Integration of Syrian asylum seekers and refugees in Austria: the role of education and skills

Abstract:
Syrians arriving in Austria are on the whole educated but fail to use their skills because of language barriers and lack of social networks. Recent research about education among Syrian asylum seekers and refugees in Austria highlights the importance of governmental and non-governmental programmes and initiatives that help Syrians use their skills in Austrian society.
