Abstract:

The tissue-specific regulation of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator gene (CFTR) is coordinated by intronic and extragenic cis-acting elements that influence its transcriptional activity. The promoter apparently lacks sequences to drive cell type-specific expression.
