An inquiry into the compatibility of character education and liberal education for Year 9 boys

Abstract:

This inquiry tested initial perceptions of Year 9 boys in relationship to character education, in a school that actively espouses a 'liberal' intellectual tradition. A five week teaching block was used as an intervention on these themes as part of their Philosophy and Religion lessons. Students revisited their perceptions and attitudes.
