Archival research is haunted by the question of how complete are the archival fonds being consulted. In this article, we describe how we have used a combination of pattern-matching and face-recognition to evaluate the completeness of the Jacques Toussele photographic archive which was established as part of the Endangered Archives Programme at the British Library.
