Understanding the effectiveness of investments in irrigation system modernization: evidence from Madhya Pradesh, India

Investments in modernizing irrigation infrastructure are key to enhance water security for agriculture. However, outcomes of investments are insufficiently understood, limiting the future design of interventions.
