Abstract:

This article considers for the first time the progressive Portuguese periodicals A Voz Feminina and O Progresso (1868–69) from a transnational perspective, with particular reference to contemporary debates about women’s suffrage in England as well as the wider emergence of transnational women’s networks around that time.
