Time-resolved dissociation of the H-2-OH entrance channel complex

Abstract:
Time-resolved experiments and calculations are reported for the predissociation dynamics of the metastable vOH=2 vibrational state of H2-OH and D2-OH in their ground electronic states. Good agreement between theory and experiment is found for the absolute lifetimes of H2-OH and relative product state distributions for D2-OH. The excited vibrational state lifetimes are 10-9 and 10-6 s for the complexes containing D2 and H2, respectively.
