Abstract:: This thesis investigates the role of extracellular and intracellular calcium (Ca²⁺) in hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction (HPV), in rat and rabbit small pulmonary arteries and also in the isolated ventilated perfused rat lung in situ.
