Ferrocene based Lewis acids for anion sensing

Abstract:

The synthesis, characterisation and anion binding properties of a series of mono- and bifunctional Lewis acidic borylferrocene compounds are described within this thesis.

The original parent compound FcBMes₂ (3.1), revealed a versatile route for the synthesis of such borylferrocenes and subsequently the analogous compound Fc*BMes₂ (3.2) was synthesised.
