This data accompanies the paper K Ishimoto, Gadêlha H, EA Gaffney, Smith DJ, Kirkman-Brown JC, Human sperm swimming in a high viscosity mucus analogue, Journal Theoretical Biology, 2018. It consists of two files (i) ws_HVM_flagella_pca.mat (ii) ws_HVM_flow_pca.mat File (i) is generated by standard principal component analysis algorithms applied to sperm flagellum data, which is detailed in the paper Smith DJ, Gaffney EA, Gadêlha H, Kapur N, Kirkman-Brown JC. Cell Motil Cytoskeleton. 2009 Apr;66(4):220-36. Bend propagation in the flagella of migrating human sperm, and its modulation by viscosity. File (ii) is generated by applying standard principal component analysis algorithms to the flow predicted for a virtual swimming sperm swimming with the PCA-reduced flagellum beat of dataset (i)
