This thesis investigates the mechanisms underlying drug-induced arrhythmia and pro- poses a new approach for the automated analysis of the electrocardiogram (ECG). The current method of assessing the cardiac safety of new drugs in clinical trials is by the measurement and analysis of the QT interval.
